Privacy Policy

Effective date: 16 July 2026

1. About this policy

Kiniun Studios (“we”, “us” or “our”) operates kiniunstudios.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain and protect personal data when you visit the website, contact the studio, request professional materials or submit another website form.

We process personal data in accordance with applicable Nigerian data-protection law, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

Depending on the form you use, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number, country, organisation, job title, enquiry category, relevant production, territory, rights interest, intended use, budget range, project summary and the contents of your message.

Correspondence

We may retain subsequent emails and other correspondence relating to your enquiry, request, partnership discussion or business relationship.

Technical and security information

When you access the website or submit a form, our hosting and security providers may process limited technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, request time, security signals and form-verification result. This information is used to operate the website, protect it against abuse and diagnose technical problems.

3. How we use personal data

We may use personal data to:

  • Respond to general, press, festival, viewing or administrative enquiries.
  • Review partnership, co-production, production-service, financing and distribution opportunities.
  • Assess requests for screeners, sales decks and other confidential materials.
  • Confirm professional identity, organisation and territory of interest.
  • Protect the website and forms against spam, fraud and other misuse.
  • Maintain appropriate records of commercial discussions.
  • Establish, exercise or defend legal rights.
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Improve the reliability and security of the website.

We do not sell personal data. We do not use website-form information for unrelated advertising. We do not make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects solely through automated processing.

4. Lawful basis

Depending on the circumstances, we process personal data because:

  • It is necessary to respond to a request you have made.
  • It is necessary for steps relating to a possible contract or business relationship.
  • It supports our legitimate interests in managing studio enquiries, commercial opportunities, content rights and website security.
  • You have provided consent where consent is required.
  • Processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation.

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal or processing supported by another lawful basis.

5. Form submissions and email delivery

Website forms are transmitted securely to our server and sent to info@kiniunstudios.com through our email-service provider. The website is not intended to create a separate permanent database of form submissions.

The email received by the studio may be retained in our business mailbox and correspondence records for the purposes described in this policy.

Do not submit confidential scripts, passwords, financial-account information, identity documents, medical information or other sensitive material through a general website form.

6. Cloudflare Turnstile

We use Cloudflare Turnstile to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated submissions and protect our forms against spam and abuse.

When Turnstile operates, Cloudflare may process limited technical and browser information, including network and device signals, for security verification. Turnstile is used for security and not for advertising or behavioural marketing.

A valid Turnstile verification is required before a protected form can be submitted.

7. Service providers and disclosure

We may disclose limited personal data to service providers that help us operate the website and handle communications, including:

  • Website-hosting and infrastructure providers.
  • IONOS, for email transmission and mailbox services.
  • Cloudflare, for website security and Turnstile verification.
  • Google, for web-font delivery — your browser may connect to Google-operated font servers (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com) to load the site’s typefaces.
  • Technical advisers supporting the website.
  • Professional advisers where reasonably necessary.

We may also disclose information where required by law, regulation, court order or a lawful request from a competent authority, or where necessary to protect our rights, users or systems.

Service providers receive only the information reasonably necessary to perform their functions and are expected to protect it appropriately.

8. International processing

Some service providers may process information outside Nigeria. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that the transfer is supported by an appropriate legal basis and safeguards required by applicable law.

9. Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.

General enquiry correspondence will ordinarily be retained for up to 24 months after the last meaningful interaction.

Records relating to confidential screeners, sales materials, rights discussions, partnerships, contracts, disputes or legal obligations may be retained for longer where reasonably necessary.

Technical security logs are retained for a shorter period unless they are required to investigate abuse, a security incident or a legal claim.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration, misuse or disclosure.

No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Visitors should avoid sending unnecessary or highly sensitive information through website forms.

11. Your rights

Subject to applicable law and any lawful limitations, you may have the right to:

  • Ask whether we process your personal data.
  • Request access to personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate, incomplete or outdated data.
  • Request deletion where there is no lawful reason to retain the data.
  • Request restriction of processing in appropriate circumstances.
  • Object to certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

To exercise a right, email info@kiniunstudios.com. We may request reasonable information to confirm your identity before acting on a request.

Information about the Nigeria Data Protection Commission is available at ndpc.gov.ng (opens in a new tab).

12. Children

This website is intended for general and professional audiences and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly request personal data from children through the website.

A parent or guardian who believes that a child has submitted personal data may contact us to request review or deletion.

13. External websites and viewing platforms

The website may link to streaming platforms, social networks or other third-party websites. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Kiniun Studios is not responsible for how an external service collects or uses personal data.

14. Cookies and similar technology

At launch, the website does not intentionally use advertising or behavioural-marketing cookies.

Essential website, hosting and security technologies may process limited information needed to deliver pages, protect the website and operate Cloudflare Turnstile. The site currently loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser may connect to Google-operated servers when a page loads. Blocking essential technologies may prevent protected forms from working correctly.

If analytics, advertising or other non-essential technologies are introduced later, this policy and any required consent controls must be updated before those technologies are enabled.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our website, services or legal obligations change. The revised version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
